This will be our second round of planting for the late summer/fall growing season. Why are we planting again? Well, everyone likes an assortment of food to choose from so this planting will be different from what was sown in mid-September and early October. Once harvested the food we planted will be donated to the Peninsula Rescue Mission kitchen. In order make the garden a continued success we are looking for some youth volunteers willing to roll their sleeves up and get dirty. Youth will be planting a variety of seedlings and seeds that need to be sown directly into the ground such as carrots.
Youth will need to wear a mask for the duration of this project. A screening process will be set up for check-in with temperature checks and a health assessment will need to be filled out for the garden as well. Even though we will be outside, we also kindly ask that you avoid travel and exposure to crowds for two weeks prior to this project for the safety of our host organization, other youth, and our staff.
