Animal Enrichment (IN-PERSON)

  • Virginia Living Museum 524 J Clyde Morris Boulevard Newport News, VA, 23601 United States (map)

Being at home with nothing to do day in and day out is boring. Humans and animals alike need stimulation and challenges to feel happy, balanced and in control. A book, video game or project enriches the life of a human.

Animals need species specific stimulation and that is what we will help with on March 10th. Youth will be helping to create and assemble a variety of animal enrichment items for the Virginia Living Museum. Don’t worry! No crafting/art experience is required but it will be helpful.

Youth will need to wear a mask for the duration of the project and be ready to get a little messy potentially.

A screening process will be set up for check-in to collect any extra waivers, check temperatures and a fill out health screenings on the day of the project.

We are continually monitoring the COVID situation and will keep up to date on CDC guidelines and follow their recommendations to keep all youth, staff, and our partner organizations as safe as possible.
