Hay…we need your help! We have a MEOW-tain of work to do at the sanctuary but many hands make light work.
Location: P.A.W.S. property (Youth will be shuttled to the sanctuary property)
Details: Youth will spend the morning replacing hay in the feral cat shelters on the sanctuary property. This is an outdoor project and youth will get dirty and encounter wildlife (i.e. cats, ants, spiders, spider webs, etc.).
Youth needed: 12
Special Considerations: Youth will need to fill out a YVC transportation waiver. Youth will also need work gloves (we do have some, if needed) and be prepared to wear long sleeves, long pants, old shoes and get dirty. This is an outdoor project around cats and a lot of hay not to mention the potential to encounter bugs like ants and spiders. If you have allergies to cats or hay and still want to participate, please take your allergy medicine leading up to and on the day of the project. If you have an aversion to bugs, fear of cats or getting dirty, perhaps this is not the best project for you.
Organization being served: Poquoson Animal Welfare Sanctuary (PAWS) is dedicated to the rescue and placement of abandoned, abused, and neglected cats in and around Poquoson, VA.
If you don’t see the project in YDAT, it may be full. Contact programdirector@yvchr.org to get on the wait list.
