Youth volunteers will help buddies play America’s favorite pastime!

Location: Great Neck Baseball Fields - Field 3

Details: Youth will buddy up with special needs players aged 4-20 years old. They will assist the player with throwing, catching, hitting and running throughout the game. Basic knowledge of bowling is recommended, but emphasis will be on positive and supportive interpersonal skills.

Organization being served: The Challenger Division of Little League Baseball, established in 1989, enables children with special needs to enjoy the game of baseball alongside millions of other kids worldwide. Challenger games can be played as T-ball games, coach-pitch, player-pitch, or a combination—depending on the needs of the players to ensure full participation. The Buddy Program allows children and youth from the host park, siblings, or others to assist Challenger players at bat or in the field.
