A career with Youth Volunteer Corps of Hampton Roads is an exciting way to immerse yourself in the nonprofit world while focusing on youth development right here in the 757. You will join a network of individuals who all share a passion for serving the local community and empowering young people to be the best version of themselves. As part of the YVC family, you will be connected to dozens of other YVC affiliates that span North America and Uganda, as well as the YVC Headquarters team, based in Kansas City, Missouri!

At YVCHR, we are doers, developers and difference makers!

Are you a dynamic, community-minded leader who is passionate about empowering youth and fostering community connections? The Interim Director of Peninsula Programs will oversee the planning, coordination, and delivery of all Youth Volunteer Corps (YVC) programs across the Hampton Roads Peninsula. This includes the development of community-based and school-based service-learning experiences, recruitment and supervision of youth and Team Leaders, and the strategic growth of YVCHR’s presence in the region. The successful candidate will be outgoing, strategic, creative, self-motivated, highly organized, and committed to youth engagement and community impact. NOTE: This interim role may transition into a long-term opportunity based on performance and organizational needs.

Are you an energetic, organized relationship builder? Are you a compelling storyteller with a drive to generate sustainable funding for an incredible mission? Are you excited about having flexible work options and the opportunity to put your mark on a growing, award-winning youth development organization? The Director of Development for Youth Volunteer Corps of Hampton Roads (YVCHR) will lead fundraising efforts to support and advance their mission. You will report directly to the Executive Director and function as part of YVCHR’s core leadership team. While there are currently no direct reports, you will assemble and lead ad hoc committees that support development efforts; there is also fund development assistance from other team members and the possibility of building a larger fundraising team over time.

The Director of School Partnerships will lead the Service Through STEM program across 6 high schools and 6 elementary schools in Newport News Public Schools and 4 high schools and 4 elementary schools in Hampton City Schools. This person will oversee program design, implementation, training, logistics, evaluation, and partner engagement. The Director will ensure alignment with academic standards and Positive Youth Development (PYD) practices, while coordinating all operational aspects of the program. The Program Director will also support YVCHR’s special events and Summer of Service camp program. We are seeking a passionate, organized, and visionary leader to direct this impactful, school-based initiative in its fourth year on the Peninsula.
